- Can I change mapping sets on my course?
- Why can't I edit a mapping set?
One of the powers of Coursetune is the ability to connect learning objectives to different sets of outcomes, like institutional benchmarks and industry standards. Outcome sets are incredibly flexible for tracking and visualizing progress, alignment, and opportunities. This chart will give you the details of who can do this connection and where they can apply it. Because outcome sets use separate permissions from course editing, it's more tightly controlled editing permissions are.

Permissions and Levels Explained
Institution Level (Level1) Outcome Sets (L1OS) can be created or edited by admins and by up to three specially designated users at level 1 (S3, because the S is for Special). These are the most tightly controlled sets because they are at the highest level in Coursetune. NOTE: No user, except an admin, can edit Institution level outcome sets at the institution level (level 1). They can be edited from the program and course levels if a user is one of the special three.
Division Level (Level 2) Outcome Sets (L2OS) can be created and edited by the manager of the corresponding division (level-2 folder). Once created, the mapping permissions for these sets are open to more users with relevant roles to the programs inside the division.
Program Level (Level 3) Outcome Sets (L3OS) can be created and edited by the manager of the corresponding program (level-3 folder). Once created, the mapping permissions for these are open to more users with relevant roles to the level-3 program.
Course Level (Level 4) Outcome Sets (L4OS) can be created, edited, and mapped by both editors and managers. These outcome sets are used for all sorts of tracking purposes in design and redesign, so we didn't want permissions to get in the way of spinning up a set of course-level outcomes.
