- Why is this person no longer listed as a user?
- What does "The user is already in the system." mean?
Sometimes, a team member might be gone for a while, but is now ready to begin working in Coursetune again. A user cannot be deleted in Coursetune, they can only be deactivated, which makes reactivating them easy. We don't delete users because we want to preserve all the suggestions, discussions, and change history from the particular user. If you try to add a user, only to find out they are already in the system, then you may need to find the inactive user and reactivate them.
A reactivated user will have the same roles they had before they were deactivated, so you can check to make sure those roles are still correct, or need to be modified.
Step 1- First, you need to navigate to the Users panel. Click on the hamburger menu (three lines) next to your name in the top right corner. Select Users from the drop-down menu.
Step 2- Now that you're in the Users panel, click on the Active Users drop down menu and select Deactivated Users.
Step 3- Find the desired user, and click the ellipsis (three dots) to the far right of their name. To reactivate them, select Reactivate from the drop down menu.
The user will be sent a login email using their last known username and password. All existing roles for the user will be restored. This might be a good time to check all roles for the user and make sure they are still appropriate. Exit the Users panel by either clicking on the Coursetune logo or clicking on the X in the upper right-hand corner of the panel.
When reactivating a user, they retain their previous roles, so you might want to check their roles to make sure they are still appropriate. To do that, check out this article: How do I see all roles of a user?
