- Can I get rid of a variation?

If a Course Variation no longer has use or relevance, you may want to delete it. For example, if an institution made four variations of an economics course representing four different session durations and the institution makes a system-wide decision to no longer offer summer sessions. In this case, any variations that were made for summer sessions may no longer be needed. In this case, it is recommended to Export the Course Variation to save it as a historical document before it is deleted.
Managers can delete individual variations. If the goal is to turn off the Variations Feature entirely, delete each individual course variation, and then you will be able to turn off Variations.
Step 1: As a manager, you can delete a course variation. First, you need to start on the course level (level 4) and make sure Edit mode is turned on. Click on the Variations icon in the right panel.
Step 2: Find and select the course variation, and then click on the three dots (ellipsis) on the right of the variation name. Click the trash can.
Note: You may want to export a course variation before deleting it. For more information on exporting, read this article: How do I export a course (level-4 object)?
