Learning objectives are the explicit statements that explain what students are learning. They are used in Coursetune to roll up into the course goals and connect to activities and assessments. They are the element that sits on both design layers of a course that describe what students learn and when.
Editors and Managers may need to edit these LOs from time to time as part of the continuous improvement process.
There are a few ways that you can edit learning objectives:
- Clicking an LO and using the Learning Objective panel
- Using the Expanded Learning Objective panel
- Using the LO batch editor

To edit an LO using the Learning Objective panel
Step 1: Make sure you are on the course level (level 4), and turn on Edit mode.
Step 2: Click on the desired LO, and then click the editing pencil icon.
The Learning Objective panel will open. Here you can edit the LO text, manually choose two or three words to represent the learning objective on the course circle graph (LO abbreviation), choose the level of the LO scale(s) connected to your course (if turned on), and add an LO ID if you choose.
Note: You can choose up to three words for the LO abbreviation. If you try to choose more than three words, you will be prompted to deselect a word before you choose an alternate word.
Editing an LO using the Expanded Learning Objective panel
With Edit mode turned on, click on the C-layer or bundle containing the desired LO/LOs, and click the arced arrow to open the Expanded Learning Objectives panel. You can choose the two or three word abbreviations to represent the LO (LO abbreviation), choose the level of the LO scales set to the course (if any), and click on the editing pencil to open the Learning Objective panel to edit the LO text.
Editing learning objectives with the LO Batch Editor

Here you can edit the C-layer or bundle title, description and ID, add or delete learning objectives, choose the LO scale level for individual LOs (if your course is connected to an LO scale), and edit LO text.
