- Is there a Moodle integration for Coursetune?
Who can do this? To set up the integration, you must be an admin in both Coursetune and Moodle. After integration is set up all Moodle users with a Teacher role will see the Coursetune icon in the Moodle TinyMC Editor.
Note: There are two Moodle integrations available.
- The Coursetune Graph Tool (install globally and then in any Canvas course where it's needed)
- The Coursetune Plugin for the Moodle TinyMC Editor (installs globally)
Here we will help you integrate Coursetune with the Moodle TinyMC Editor.
How to Install the Coursetune TinyMC Editor Plugin:
A. (1) Begin by clicking on the hamburger button in the top bar
(2) Select "Integrations" from the drop down menu
(3) Click on "Moodle Integration" from the drop down menu
B. From the Courstune "Moodle Integration" panel, press the “Download Plugin” button to generate a Moodle Plugin zip file and save it to your computer.
C. Now go to your Moodle account. From the Moodle “Site administration" panel (4), select the “Plugins” tab (5). In this tab choose “Install plugins” (6).
D. Place the Moodle zip file you saved the “Choose a file” panel (7). If prompted, you do not have to name the file. Then press “Install plugin from the ZIP file (8).
E. When prompted, press “Continue.” Then click on “Upgrade Moodle Database now.” When the upgrade is finished successfully, press “Continue.”
F. Now you will see a “New Settings - Coursetune” panel. You will be copying several things from the Coursetune “Moodle Integration” page to the Moodle “External Tool Configuration” page.
- The Tool URL
- The Consumer key
- The Shared secret
To find the information you need for the three boxes in this panel, navigate back to the "Moodle Integration" page in Coursetune Settings. Copy the Tool URL, Consumer key and Shared secret and paste into their respective fields in the Moodle “New Settings - Coursetune” panel. When you are finished, press “Save changes.”
Congratulations! You’ve installed the Coursetune TinyMC Editor Plugin for Moodle! This plugin will now show up in the Editor for non-students in Moodle.
Note: Don't see the Coursetune icon in the editors? Try troubleshooting by navigating to Site Administration>Plugins>Text Editors>Manage editors, and make sure the TinyMCE HTML editor is at the top of the list by clicking the up/down arrows.
