- Can I align my standards to a proxy course?
- Am I allowed to map program mappings to a proxy course?
Who can do this?
- Source level-4 objects (often called source courses) can be mapped to all outcome set types (Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4) with an editor or higher role.
- Proxy level-4 objects (often called proxy courses) can be mapped to level-2, level-3 and level-4 outcome sets with an editor or higher role.
Level-4 Outcome Sets
Using standard terminology (course, program, division, institution):
Course outcomes can be mapped on a source course and a proxy course. You need an editing role on the course or higher corresponding level to do this.
In level language (Level 4, Level 3, Level 2, Level 1):
Level-4 outcomes can be mapped on a level-4 source object and proxy object. You need an editing role on the level-4 object or higher corresponding level to do this.
Level-3 Outcome Sets
Using standard terminology (course, program, division, institution):
Program outcomes can be mapped on source course and proxy courses. You need an editing role on the course or higher corresponding level to do this.
In level language (Level 4, Level 3, Level 2, Level 1):
Level-3 outcomes can be mapped on level-4 source objects and proxy objects. You need an editing role on the level-4 object or higher corresponding level to do this.
Level-2 Outcome Sets (Division Outcome Sets)
Using standard terminology (course, program, division, institution):
If a proxy course is in the same division as its source course, then only the source course can be mapped to division outcomes.
If a proxy course is in a different division as its corresponding source course, then the proxy course can be mapped to division outcomes (the source and the proxy courses will have different division outcome sets and mappings).
Note: If there are numerous proxy courses inside a division, and the corresponding source course is in a different division folder, then any change in division mappings on a proxy course will result in changes to the division mappings of all the other proxy courses in that division.
In level language (Level 4, Level 3, Level 2, Level 1):
If a level-4 proxy object is in the same level-2 folder as the corresponding level-4 source object, then only the level-4 source object can be mapped to level 2 outcomes.
If a level-r proxy object is in a different level-2 folder as its corresponding level-4 source object, then the level-4 proxy object can be mapped to level-2 outcomes (the source and the proxy objects will have different level-2 outcome sets and mappings).
NOTE: If there are numerous level-4 proxy objects inside a level-2 folder, and the corresponding level-4 source object is in a different level-2 folder, then any change in the level-2 mappings on a level-4 proxy object will result in changes to the level-2 mappings of all the other level-4 proxy objects in that level-2 folder. You will be presented with this warning:
Level-1 Outcome Sets (Institution Outcome Sets)
Using standard terminology (course, program, division, institution):
You cannot map a proxy course to institution outcomes because the source and proxy courses cannot have different institutional mappings.
In level language (Level 4, Level 3, Level 2, Level 1):
You cannot map a level-4 proxy object to level-1 outcomes because the level-4 source and proxy objects cannot have different level-1 mappings.
