Account linking in Coursetune can help people in leadership roles to see the big picture across multiple organizations and communicate the full story. What comes before, and what comes after? How are things aligned from a macro level? Account linking has particularly powerful potential for articulating student pathways in transfer situations, such as high school to community college to university.
If you are a Coursetune admin who needs to link multiple client accounts or multiple institutions (like a University System), we support this. This is achieved through the use of a common email address at all the sites. When a new account is added, the user will have to authenticate through whatever authentication the site requires. It is important to note that an email address can only be added once per Coursetune account.
Once a user has been added to multiple accounts, they will be able to switch seamlessly between accounts while logged into Coursetune. They will be required to enter their passwords for each account once each session before they can switch seamlessly.
Step 1: In this step, Coursetune admins will add the user's email as a new user in the account. Please refer to this article if you need to know how to do that: How can I add a new user to Coursetune?
Step 2: Make sure that your user understands that if their emails and/or passwords are different between the accounts, they will need to login to each account using their correct credentials at least once during each session.
You may have the same password between accounts, but note that you will need to set up the password in each account individually.
Admins can see which team members are linked to multiple Coursetune accounts by looking for the link icon next to a name in the Users panel:
Note: If you are using the account linking feature AND you are an admin who works with APIs, you will need to add an additional parameter to access the APIs.
